IF sweat is fat crying, fat was bawling last night...

I went for another walk/run last night.  I made a horrible choice in shorts and have some thigh chaffing today, whoops!  Oh well, LIVE and LEARN! Speaking of living and learning, I had to buy my second pair of ear phones in two days.  Apparently my ears are dainty and sensitive.  Probably the only think dainty about me.
Anyways...Ear buds that are flat didn't work for me in the least.  Pain.  The ones that go in the ears though, yep those are the ticket.  I got pink ones, with a little sparkle, they make me happy when I think about them, so I am hoping that will make me workout more.
What was this post about again, oh yeah, sweating...  I did just that last night.  I went for the workout around six pm and that was maybe the reason, but WOW, sweat was pouring off of me.  Even those dainty, sensitive ears were sweating.  I think that this is a good thing.
I do not like working out, hopefully I will, but it is a necessary evil.  I am hoping I get up the courage to post some before photos, but I am not brave enough yet.  Heck, I haven't even taken any, suppose I should do that.

I am looking for other good workout gear... Shorts that are a little longer, with a pocket for a cell phone would be great. Does anyone know if these exsist?

Baked chocolate Donuts

Baked Cholate Donuts-  (in a muffin pan)
Okay, I am fully aware that donuts are not considered healthly and that if you are trying to loose weight you shouldn't be eating them, however, I have two toddlers who LOVE their chocolate (I wonder who they got that gene from?), and as far as donuts go these are pretty heathly!

The recipe is from Alli n Sons. AH-MAZE-ING site.

I put the final product picture at the top because I was delighted with it. I do not have a donut pan, so I made them in a regular size muffin pan.    I had to cook them for 15 minutes instead of the 8-10 per the site directions.  I served them with dinner tonight to my toddlers (1/2 a donut per customer), and they scarfed it.  I don't think Peanut even took a breath and asked for "MORE PEAZ" before he was even finished with his. Bobo, (for those wondering, no those are their real names) he started telling the dog to go away.  YES, this is the very same dog that he usually loves to feel.
I believe in putting the sweets on the plate if we are going to have them, so the kis do not think of it as a reward.
VERDICT: I will definitely make these again.  I haven't tried one, but with the toddler response, it is a go.  Hubs is not home, he is working late, but I am sure he will approve!

Yummy yummy, I have pizza in my tummy

Tonight's dinner rocked!! Seriously was Da bomb! Hubs and I agreed on the meal being great which isn't typical. The boys deconstructed the pizza and ate some! The recipe was found on: http://thewescotts.blogspot.com/ and modified some for our family!

3-4 cups flour

Directions
1. Mix warm water and yeast. Wait 5-10 min
2. Mix olive oil, sugar, salt 2 cups flour in mixer

I actually put the cheese over the topping to try and prevent the deconstruction my kids love... Didn't work!

Easy Egg Bake

I got this recipe idea from:
http://joelens.blogspot.com/2011/02/maple-sausage-and-waffle-breakfast.html

I made some changes so that it was more diet friendly!
6 eggs
8 Whole wheat waffles
1 pound lite tube of sausage
1/4 c maple syrup
1 1/4 cup milk
1 small onion
1 teaspoon butter alternative spread
Cheese Two handfuls
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Spray 8x8 casserole dish with butter flavored spray to prevent sticking,
2. Toast waffles in toaster
3. Brown sausage
4. Remove sausage and rinse pan
5. Dice onion
6. Add butter alternative and onions to rinsed pan, sauté until clear, replace sausage and mix
7. In separate bowl combine milk, syrup, and eggs in bowl and whisk
8. Place 4 waffles on bottom of casserole, cover with half sausage mixture, a one handful cheese, repeat steps for second layer.
9. Pour egg mixture on top
10. Cover and leave in fridge overnight
11. Preheat oven to 350 bake 55 min

Once this dish was done, I cut the dish into 9 pieces.
I loved it!! My husband thought it was okay, and the kids ate it... Which is a good sign, especially since my kids aren't egg lovers!!
VERDICT: I'll make it again!!

I only had 1 square. I also served the dish with fresh fruit, and it kept me quite full until lunch, probably all the protein!

Welcome!!

Welcome to my blog, I hope you enjoy my musing about food, kids, dogs, and whatever pops up in my mind!! I have two 2 1/2 year old boys who are picky eaters, and a husband who is my human garbage (he manages to consume even my epic failures!). We also have a dog, who will scarf whatever you put in front of him (I learned just how indiscriminate he is due to my kiddos). I will be trying different recipes from blogs, cookbooks, and hand me down recipes based on my meal plans and report back! Wish me luck!!
